Nathan Kamugisha Nominated for Rukungiri Municipality MP Seat in NRM Primaries

Rukungiri: The aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Nathan Kamugisha, has officially been nominated to contest in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries scheduled for next month.

Kamugisha was nominated on June 17, 2025, at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala by the Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi.

Speaking to our news reporter on June 18, a day after his nomination, Kamugisha pledged to be a representative who will voice the concerns and ideas of the people of Rukungiri Municipality in the Ugandan Parliament. He promised to work hard to address the challenges affecting the area and to promote development so that the municipality can match the growth seen in other towns across the country.

He also called on the public to support him and to reject leaders who spread hatred, discrimination, and division during the political season.

The NRM Electoral Commission officially launched the nomination exercise on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The process will run until June 30, 2025, covering both parliamentary and local government positions.

Nominations for MPs, LC5 Chairpersons, Lord Mayors, and City Mayors are being conducted at the NRM Electoral Commission offices in Kampala, while nominations for other local government positions are taking place at NRM district offices countrywide.
