Murder of 53-year old Woman leaves kasheeshe Residents in fear.

Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri district are investigating circumstances under which a 53 year old woman was murdered.

The deceased has been identified as Bainenama Olivia a Muhororo by tribe, a peasant, aand resident of Nyarurambi cell, Kasheshe parish, Buyanja sub-county in Rukungiri district.

It is alleged that on 11^th December 2023 at around 05:00pm, Beinenama found her husband Mugisha Abel grazing his goats and asked him to give her money for buying hens.

Mugisha the husband of the deceased gave her shs 40,000 and went to Kasheshe trading centre where she bought two hens from a seller and took them home.

When Mugisha returned home later in the evening, he found Beinenama, her wife in the Kitchen cut to death by an unknown person.

He immediately rang and informed Akandwanaho Edwin, the deceased’s daughter who reported a Murder case at Rukungiri Central police station.

According to Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly maate, a case was registered under Reference SD 46/11/12/2023.

The scene of the crime was visited by Homicide staff, examined and documented.

Statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, an exhibit of a panga recovered and the body was taken to Rwakabengo health centre III mortuary pending postermotem.
