
Mucureezi tips Youths on Success in Sports.
Rukungiri: Youths and other sportpersons have been urged to prioritize discipline and hard work, recognizing their importance in achieving success in sports and other fields.
This message was delivered by Uganda Cranes footballer Paul Mucureezi during a special prayer event held on Sunday April 5, 2025 at Christ Believers Temple in Rugongi Cell, Rwentondo Ward, Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality. The prayers were dedicated to Uganda Cranes’ dream of winning the World Cup in this generation.
Mucureezi who plays as a midfielder for National Enterprises Corporation FC (NEC) in the Uganda Premier League emphasized that success in sports is not only about talent but also requires hard work, discipline, self-control, responsibility, and consistency both on and off the pitch.
As the guest of honor, he advised young people who aspire to follow in his footsteps to be disciplined and hardworking not only on the football field but in their daily lives. He noted that discipline is the foundation that supports sustainable career growth.
He also cautioned the youth against alcohol consumption, warning that it can destroy their potential and hinder their talent development.
Pastor Alfred Mugarura of Christ Believers Temple explained that the purpose of the event was to pray for the national Team, Uganda Cranes to win the World Cup in our generation, while also encouraging local footballers to learn from successful international clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Real Madrid.
Mugarura urged the youth to stay away from bad habits such as alcohol, using Paul Mucureezi as a positive example of a disciplined and successful footballer.
