MP Midius Natukunda Urges Ruhinda Residents to Elect Leaders Focused on Service

Rukungiri: Residents of Ruhinda Sub-County have been encouraged to elect leaders who will serve the people rather than pursue personal gain.

This message was delivered on January 6, by the Rukungiri District Woman MP, Midius Natukunda Kaharata, during her campaign rallies held in Nyakitabire B and Burombe parishes in Ruhinda Sub-county.

She called on voters to choose capable leaders regardless of political party, saying residents should vote for leaders who can perform their legislative duties, not those interested in showmanship.

Natukunda also urged young people to embrace responsible leadership based on merit and service. She further encouraged voters to elect development-oriented leaders committed to transforming their communities.

The MP noted that during her term, Ruhinda Sub-county has seen improvements in health services, including the renovation of Nyarwimuka Health Centre II and Ruhinda Health Centre III. She said the education sector has also benefited through renovation of Kajuju Primary School, as well as support to churches such as Rwamagaya Church of Uganda and road works.

She asked residents to give her another term so she can complete her manifesto commitments.

Natukunda urged residents to elect leaders who understand local challenges in their villages rather than focusing on money and religion during elections. She pledged to continue improving access to clean water and education, which she described as key drivers of development in the area.
