Minister Jim Muhwezi Promises Electricity And Water For All Villages In Rujumbura
Rukungiri: The Minister for Security and Member of Parliament for Rujumbura Constituency, Hon. Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Jim Muhwezi Katugugu, has pledged to ensure that every village in the constituency gains access to electricity and clean water within the next five years.
Hon. Muhwezi, who is seeking his fifth term as Rujumbura County MP, made the promise on November 10, while launching his campaign rallies in the villages of Karokarungi, Nyarubare, Kirembe, Kanyamuhe, and Rugarama cells, where he met residents at Kyabubare Health Centre II. Then residents of Kibirizi, Kyabubare, and Rwenyanyangi at Omukinyinya Trading Centre. He later addressed residents of Kitusi and Nyakabungo cells at Katerampungu Catholic Church, all located in Kyaburara Parish, Bugangari Sub-county.
Hon. Muhwezi revealed that the Government of Uganda has already budgeted over 200 million dollars for the extension of electricity across Western Uganda. He said, through his intervention, Rujumbura Constituency has already been surveyed, putting it among the areas to benefit soon.

The Minister further announced that China Huba Engineering Company has been contracted to implement a major water project in the constituency, with a main water tank to be constructed in Nyakariro, Bugangari Sub-county, from which water will be extended to other sub-counties lacking clean sources.
He called on the residents to support the NRM party, saying it is the only party with a clear development manifesto for transforming the country.
