Minister Jim Muhwezi Donates Keyboard, Backs Women’s Projects at Nyakinengo Church.

Rukungiri: The Minister for Security and Rujumbura County Member of Parliament, Hon. Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Jim Katugugu Muhwezi, has reaffirmed his support for grassroots development, particularly initiatives led by women, as part of his wider commitment to community empowerment.

This message was delivered on June 15, during Mary’s Day celebrations at Nyakinengo Church of Uganda in Nyakinengo Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub-county, Rukungiri District. The event, organized by the Mothers’ Union, aimed to raise funds for the construction of women’s washrooms at the church.

Representing Minister Muhwezi at the function, his political assistant Isaac Kaharuza commended the role of women in shaping both homes and the country. He called on them to continue actively participating in nation-building.

Kaharuza emphasized that the NRM government, under which Minister Muhwezi serves, has made notable progress in promoting gender equality and improving women’s welfare.

Kaharuza also highlighted the Minister’s dedication to service delivery in the area, mentioning that during a recent community dialogue, key concerns were raised by residents ranging from access to clean water, better roads, electricity, healthcare, and education. He assured the congregation that these priorities remain central to Minister Muhwezi’s development agenda.

The Church Development Chairperson Abel Mugabe Rwebitogo and Vice Chairperson of the Mothers’ Union Molly Twinomujuni praised Minister Muhwezi for fulfilling his pledge of donating a keyboard to the church and for contributing to the Mothers’ Union’s project to build washrooms.
