
Minister Jim Muhwezi Denies Involvement in RDC Nsubuga Bewayo’s Transfer
Rukungiri: The Minister for Security, Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi Katugugu, has distanced himself from claims that he was responsible for the transfer of the outgoing Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Steven Nsubuga Bewayo.
Muhwezi made the clarification while addressing the congregation via Zoom during a farewell party held at Riverside Hotel in Rukungiri Municipality on July 31, in honor of Nsubuga Bewayo. He explained that the appointment and transfer of RDCs are the responsibility of the President, and not influenced by him.

Nsubuga Bewayo, who has been transferred to Pakwach District, handed over the office to his deputy, Wilberforce Ahimbisibwe Ongom, after serving in Rukungiri for four years and three months.
The RDC office, now led by Acting RDC Wilberforce Ahimbisibwe Ongom, along with assistants Mabel Mirembe Karazarwe and Kallen Kagisha, praised Nsubuga Bewayo for his resilience, mentorship, and commitment to duty. The District Internal Security Office (DISO) Christopher Wakyaya also recognized his outstanding service and expressed that he will be greatly missed
