Man Found Dead in Rukungiri, Police Suspect Murder by Strangulation

Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri District are investigating the suspected murder of a 39-year-old man identified as Pius Kyarisima, a resident of Kibare Cell, Western Division.

Kyarisima’s lifeless body was discovered in his bed on November 6, 2025, at around 9:00 p.m., with visible injuries on his forehead and feet, suggesting he may have been strangled.

According to police, the deceased was last seen on the night of October 5, 2025, at Omukibare Trading Centre in Karangaro Ward, Western Division, Rukungiri District.

The case was reported to Rukungiri Police Station by Tumusiime Caroline, prompting investigators to launch an inquiry to identify and arrest those responsible.

The body was examined at Rwakabengo Health Centre III mortuary before being handed over to the family for burial.

Police say investigations are ongoing.
