Leonard Muhunguzi Wins NRM Flag for Mayor of Kebisoni Town Council with 79.4%

Rukungiri: Muhunguzi Leonard has won the 2025 NRM flag bearer elections for Mayor of Kebisoni Town Council, securing 79.4% of the vote.

The results were announced on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 7:53 p.m. by the Rukungiri District NRM Elections Officer, Elias Katureebe, during the ongoing vote tallying at the district tally center located in the district council hall.

Leonard garnered 1,907 votes, representing 79.4%, defeating his closest rival, David Kwebangira, who managed 496 votes, translating to 20.6%.

Speaking shortly after his victory, Muhunguzi thanked his supporters for their tireless efforts during the campaign period. He pledged to fulfill his promises to the people of Kebisoni Town Council and urged them not to relax but to continue mobilizing and working hard to secure victory in the 2026 general elections.
