Leonard Muhunguzi Wins Kebisoni Town Council Mayoral Race
Rukungiri: Leonard Muhunguzi of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), a guest in the ENAAMA ya Ruhanga program on County Radio 87.6 FM, has been declared the elected Mayor of Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District.
Muhunguzi won the election after polling 1,900 votes, defeating his closest competitor, Evarist Mubangizi (Independent), who received 1,595 votes. Zephas Abamanya of the PFF party came third with 356 votes.
The results were officially announced by the Rukungiri District Electoral Returning Officer, Namara K. Abas, on February 5 at the Rukungiri District Rally Centre, located at the district headquarters.
Shortly after being declared winner, Muhunguzi thanked the Almighty God for the achievement and expressed gratitude to the people of Kebisoni Town Council for trusting him with their votes. He pledged to work hard to transform Kebisoni into a model town council within Rukungiri District and Uganda as a whole.
Muhunguzi also promised to serve as a leader for all residents, emphasizing that he will not rule over the people but lead them inclusively.
