Late Kosia Mwoojo Died Without Forgiving His Wife, Family Reveals
Rukungiri: Family members have described the late Kosia Mwoojo as a man who abandoned his family following anger that reportedly arose from money his wife used to renovate their family house.
This was revealed on February 15, during condolence speeches at the burial of the late Kosia Mwoojo, which took place at his ancestral home in Kafunjo Village, Buyanja Sub-county, Rukungiri District. The deceased had stayed away from the home for many years while working in Kampala.
While delivering a condolence message, the head of the clan, Retired Reverend Benon David Turyatemba, currently residing in Remiyaga Constituency, Nyabitanga Sub-county in Sembabule District, explained that Kosia left his home many years ago to work in Kampala when he and others were still young.
Rev. Turyatemba said that Kosia would spend several years away working and would occasionally return home before going back to Kampala. He added that the family later shared money from a savings association, where each beneficiary received five million shillings.
He further explained that it is alleged that the wife of the deceased, Lilian Mwoojo, used part of her share to renovate the family house while her husband was still away. When Kosia later returned home, he reportedly found that only 2.5 million shillings remained.
When Kosia asked about the money, his wife told him that she had used 2.5 million shillings for house renovation. This reportedly angered him greatly.
According to the family, Kosia refused to take the remaining balance of the money and decided to leave home. From that time, he distanced himself from his wife and children and never fully returned.
Rev. Turyatemba said he made several attempts to reconcile Kosia with his family, but Kosia refused, insisting that he could not forgive his wife because she had eaten his money.

The children of the deceased, including Obed Nabimanya and seven others, said their father spent most of his life away from the family. They said he would visit occasionally but later stopped coming home completely until his death.
They added that before he died, Kosia called some of his children, forgave them, and asked them to live in unity. However, they said he told them that he would never forgive his older wife.
Speaking during the ceremony, Lilian Mwoojo said her husband used to return home from Kampala but later became distant. She explained that she chose to remain silent because, from the time she got married, some members of her husband’s lineage ignored and mistreated her.
