Kyatoko Primary School Holds Fundraiser to Mark 100 Years of Existence
Rukungiri: Kyatoko Primary School held a fundraising event on March 29, to support the construction of a three-classroom block as part of its centenary celebrations.
The event, held at the school premises in Kyatoko Ward, Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, raised over UGX 30 million in both cash and pledges, along with 107 bags of cement.
The chief guest, Counsel Isaac Atukunda, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality and an alumnus of the school (1987-1994), urged stakeholders including alumni, school committees, the foundation body, and the local community to continuously support the school’s development.
Atukunda emphasized the importance of giving back to institutions that shape future generations, stating that strong schools contribute to the overall well-being of a community by producing educated individuals. He also encouraged parents and residents to have confidence in their local schools, believing they can nurture future leaders.
As part of his contribution, Atukunda donated 100 bags of cement and secured UGX 12 million from Kyatoko residents in Kampala through their association, Kyatoko Investments Club.
