Kanombe FC Clinches 13th Timothy Memorial Cup.
Rukungiri: Kanombe FC emerged victorious in the 13th Timothy Tumuhairwe Inter-Cells Memorial Cup, defeating Buguma FC 1-0 in a thrilling final held at Nyabiteete Playground, Buyanja Subcounty in Rukungiri District on December 27.
The tournament honors the memory of Timothy Tumuhairwe, a celebrated footballer from Kaata Cell, Nyabiteete Parish.
The Archdeacon of Nyabiteete Archdeaconry Ven. Enock Karamuzi who was the chief guest, commended the teams and the community for fostering teamwork and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of leaving a positive legacy, as exemplified by Timothy Tumuhairwe.
One of the cup sponsors Joel Mugisha, expressed concern about the deteriorating condition of Nyabiteete Playground. He appealed to Ven. Karamuzi to spearhead efforts to rally well-wishers to rehabilitate the facility.
The Nyabiteete Parish Councilor Charles Karahukayo, used the occasion to share updates on his fight against theft in the area. He thanked God for the progress made and noted that some previously apprehended thieves had repented and pledged to reform.
