Kafunjo Residents Give Warm Welcome to LCV Aspirant Angello Twinomuhangi After Hospital Discharge
Rukungiri: Residents of Kafunjo Parish in Nyarushanje Sub-County have warmly welcomed LCV chairperson aspirant Angello Twinomuhangi following his discharge from hospital, where he had been receiving treatment after a brutal attack by unknown assailants.
Twinomuhangi was attacked last Tuesday January 6, when unknown people reportedly abducted him from his car, tied his hands behind his back, covered his mouth with wires, and later abandoned him near Mineera River. He survived after the assailants encountered a boda boda rider and dropped him before throwing him near the river.

Following the incident, Twinomuhangi was admitted to Karoli Lwanga Hospital Nyakibale on January 6, where he received treatment until his discharge on Saturday, January 10.
Upon his return, residents welcomed him with joy, ululations, and cultural dances. While addressing the gathering on January 11, Twinomuhangi thanked the Almighty God for granting him a second chance to live. He also appreciated residents, religious leaders, friends, and supporters who prayed for him and visited him during his hospitalization.

Twinomuhangi addressed the crowd while wearing a neck pillow provided by health workers to support his neck, as he is still unable to freely turn his head sideways.
He described the attack as a politically motivated assassination attempt and urged residents to turn their anger into votes during the upcoming local council elections scheduled for January 22. He also reminded voters to support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the presidential elections on January 15.
Twinomuhangi further thanked the security agencies and all officials who ensured his safety and well-being while he was receiving treatment. He emphasized that despite attempts on his life due to political reasons, he remains determined and will not step aside from the race.
