Kabale Tailoring instructor detained over defilement.

Kabale: A 45-year-old tailoring instructor in Kabale district has been arrested by police on allegations of defiling a 13-year-old girl who is a pupil at Kamuronko Child Development Center.

The suspect identified as Samantha Muyehe, is a tailoring instructor at the same child development center and a resident of Nyakahita village, Kigata Parish, Kyanamira Sub-County, Kabale District.

According to a police statement dated August 8, 2024, at around 10:30 AM, during break time, the suspect saw the victim in the school compound and lured her to the church gallery under the pretense of repairing her torn uniform.

Muyehe gave her Shs 2,000, then forcibly removed her underwear and sexually assaulted her in the church gallery.

After the barbaric act, Muyehe pretended to be making a phone call, allowing the victim to dress and leave the church.

She immediately ran out and later told her parents about the incident.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate, stated that the victim’s father reported the crime to Maziba Police Station, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

He further revealed that the suspect was later transferred to Kabale Central Police where he is now being detained for further case management.
