Kabale Councilors reject Ms Kagimba as the service commission head.
Kabale: Councilors sitting in the Kabale District council have rejected the appointment of Ms. Cellina Kagimba to the District Service Commission for the fourth time in a row.
Despite continuous efforts by Kabale District Chairman Nelson Nshangabasheija to secure approval for Kagimba, the councilors have remained steadfast in their opposition.
Nshangabasheija, who has repeatedly presented Kagimba’s name for approval, faced unanimous resistance from the councilors once again during council meeting held on Monday May 28, 2024.
The only exception was Central Division representative Leopold Twesigye, who stood alone in support of the chairman’s choice.
The councilors have consistently argued that Kagimba, who is 60 years old, does not meet the qualifications for the position.
They now want the district political head to nominate an alternative candidate.
During the last session, the Speaker of the Council Flavia Kanagizi refused to grant Chairman Nshangabasheija an opportunity to speak, despite pleas from Twesigye for him to be heard.
