Immaculate Heart Girls’ School Nyakibale Awards Top Performers, Celebrates Success of 877 UCE and UACE Candidates

Rukungiri: Immaculate Heart Girls’ School Nyakibale has celebrated the outstanding performance of its 2025 candidates, awarding top performers and recognizing the success of a total of 877 students who passed both UCE and UACE examinations.

The successful candidates included 521 UCE students and 356 UACE students. The celebration ceremony was held at the school premises on March 28, and began with Holy Mass led by the Kabale Diocese Vicar General, Msgr. Rev. Fr. Dr. John Vianney Sunday. In his message, he urged the former candidates to remain strong in faith and allow themselves to be guided by Jesus rather than worldly influences.

During the ceremony, the school awarded UGX 1,000,000 each to three students who scored 20 out of 20 points in the 2025 UACE examinations. Other students who scored 19, 18, 17, and related grades also received cash prizes. Meanwhile, top UCE performers were awarded full scholarships to continue with A-Level at the same school, along with additional support for essential scholastic needs.

According to the headteacher, Sr. Sabina Tumusiime, the school was ranked 4th nationwide in the 2025 national examinations. In her remarks, she thanked God for the continued success of the school and praised the efforts of both students and staff.

Sr. Tumusiime also advised the former candidates to maintain discipline, integrity, and good character even after leaving the school. She further appreciated the Kabale Diocese foundation body, the Board of Governors, PTA, Rukungiri Municipality, teachers, and support staff for their continued support.

The Guest of Honour, Allen Bucyana, Assistant Commissioner in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and an old girl (1994–1999), encouraged students to remain focused and use their education to build a better future.

On behalf of the Board, former Rukungiri District Woman MP Betty Bamukwasa Muzanira, who is the Vice Chairperson, commended the students and school administration for their dedication and hard work. She urged the former students to be good ambassadors of the school wherever they go.

The President of the Old Girls Association (NIHOGA), Dr. Juliet Kyayesimira (1994–1999), advised both the 2025 candidates and current students to remain disciplined and committed to their studies.

Speaking on behalf of the 2025 candidates, Alicia Ahurira expressed gratitude to the school administration, teachers, parents, and fellow students for their support, noting that teamwork contributed greatly to their success. She encouraged current students to trust in God and remain focused on their studies.

On behalf of parents, former Kihiihi Town Council Mayor and former Kanungu District LC5 aspirant Zepha Mugisha congratulated both the candidates and parents for the achievement and thanked the school for nurturing the students.

The ceremony highlighted the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
