Hon. Medius Natukunda Rallies Nyarushanje Residents on Unity, Education and Service Delivery
Rukungiri: Hon. Medius Natukunda Kaharata, the Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri District, has reiterated her commitment to improving household incomes, service delivery and social unity while meeting residents of Bunono, Ihanga and Ibanda parishes in Nyarushanje Sub-County.
During the grassroots engagement on January 3, Hon. Natukunda interacted with residents whom she described as resilient and hardworking, taking time to listen to their concerns regarding poverty, education, health services and youth employment. She pledged to continue championing practical programs intended to uplift families from poverty through skills development and empowerment initiatives.
The legislator emphasized the importance of quality education as a cornerstone of development. She promised to advocate for better learning facilities, improved teacher support and increased opportunities for both children and youth to acquire vocational and employable skills.
On health service delivery, Hon. Natukunda assured residents that she will be a strong voice in Parliament to ensure Rukungiri District benefits from national development programs. She pledged to champion better-equipped health facilities, consistent availability of medicines and improved maternal and child health services, especially for mothers, children and the elderly.
Hon. Natukunda also highlighted her passion for women and youth empowerment, promising to support programs that promote financial independence, entrepreneurship, leadership and active participation in decision-making processes.
She further urged residents to shun religious sectarianism and divisive politics, instead embracing unity and competence-based leadership. She stressed that development transcends religious lines and can only be realized when communities work together toward a shared vision.
