Fr. Barekye Warns of Rising homosexuality in schools.
Rukungiri: Christians have been urged to strengthen their faith in God as Uganda celebrates martyrs day.
The call was on Moday June 3, 2024 made by Assistant parish priest of Christ the king parish , Rukungiri, Rev Fr Henry Barekye while preaching to believers during the Martyrs mass held at Christ the king Catholic parish in eastern division, Rukungiri municipality.
Fr Barekye revealed that Uganda martyrs were killed because of their faith and refusing to accept unchristian practices like homosexuality which Kabaka Mwanga wanted to instill in them.
He challenged Christians to be mindful of schools they are educating their children from because most schools have adopted the vice of homosexuality.

Uganda Martyrs day is celebrated annually 3rd June at both Anglican and Catholic sites to commemorate 45 Christians who were killed under the orders of Kabaka Mwanga, the then King of Buganda Kingdom.
