
First Lady Janet Museveni to Grace Western Region Women’s Conference in Kisoro
Kisoro: The Minister of Education and Sports, who is also the First Lady of Uganda, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni, is set to grace the Western Region Women’s Conference in Muhabura Diocese, Kisoro district, later this week.
The development was announced on August 25, by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Mbitse, during a press briefing at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Seseme. He revealed that participants will attend from 15 dioceses across Western Uganda, including both women married through the church and those who were not.
The four-day conference, scheduled for 27th –30th August, will take place at the Muhabura Diocese Convention Grounds.
Bishop Mbitse emphasized the important role of women in the family, noting that they can either build or weaken a home. He urged men to love and care for their wives in every way possible.

He also announced the launch of a roofing campaign for the new cathedral under construction, which requires over 3,200 iron sheets, each costing 120,000 shillings. The entire project is estimated at 1 billion shillings and, once complete, will accommodate over 3,000 Christians.
