FDC Members in Nyakishenyi Demand Release of Dr. Kizza Besigye 

Rukungiri: Members of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Katonga faction in Kirimbe Parish, Nyakishenyi Subcounty, Rukungiri District, have called for the immediate release of Dr. Kizza Besigye, who is currently detained in Luzira Prison. 

Led by the Chairperson of the Kirimbe FDC United Group Judith Tumushabe, alongside members Charity Florence and Macklin Naturinda on February 18, the group expressed deep concern about Dr. Besigye’s arrest and the conditions he is enduring. They criticized government authorities for failing to address injustices in the country.

The Chairperson of FDC in Nyakishenyi Sub county Ambrose Rutagasa Byomuhangi, also voiced his frustration, accusing Members of Parliament of neglecting their responsibilities in advocating for Dr. Besigye’s release.

A catechist at Kafujo Catholic Church Seresitino Bandonda, condemned President Museveni’s leadership, citing biblical teachings that denounce oppressive regimes. He urged religious leaders, church communities, and all citizens to pray for Dr. Besigye, expressing hope that a miracle could secure his freedom.
