Education stakeholders in Rukungiri district are celebrating the success of 2024 candidates in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). 

Rukungiri: After the official release of PLE results on January 23, by UNEB at state house Nakasero in a function presided over by the education minister Janet Kataha Museveni, our news reporters visited various schools in Rukungiri district where they interacted with several school authorities that would not withhold their joy.

At Nyakibale Lower Primary School, Headteacher Henry Byarugaba told our reporter that they had 11 pupils in Division One, 58 in Division Two, and 3 in Division Three. He thanked pupils, teachers, and parents for their collective efforts.

At Graceland Academy located in Nyakatobo Trading Centre Nyakagyeme sub-county, headteacher Simon Akamanya informed our correspondent that out of 30 candidates that sat for PLE, 15 achieved Division One and 15 passed in Division Two. He urged members of the community to enroll their children at Graceland for quality education.

John Musimenta, headteacher at Nyakibale Parents Primary School, proudly stated that all 57 of their students achieved Division One.

Gideon Principal, the headteacher at Star Parents Primary School in Kifunjo Ward, Rukungiri Municipality announced that 17 pupils secured Division One, while 8 were placed in Division Two.

At Rushasha Salvation Primary School in Nyakagyeme sub-county, director Edger Tumuranze reported that out of 50 candidates, 46 achieved Division One, and 4 obtained Division Two.

Bernard Tumushangye, headteacher at Kinyasano Primary School, disclosed to our reporter that out of 136 pupils, 96 achieved Division One and 40 came in Division Two.

Last year, a total of 6,686 pupils sat for the PLE exams in Rukungiri. When our reporter contacted Lydia Tushemerirwe, the Principal Education Officer, she mentioned that she had not yet compiled the overall results for the district.
