Dr Edward Kazire Condemns Witchcraft.
Rukungiri: The head of laity at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish Katojo, Dr. Edward Kaziire, has condemned the practice of witchcraft in Rubanga Parish, Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri district.
Speaking on Sunday August 25, 2024 as the chief guest at a fundraising event for the construction of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Rubanga, Dr. Kaziire said witchcraft has stalled development in the communities.
He further punched holes in the rising cases of bewitching innocent children who are now suffering with mental health issues.
Rev Fr. Benjamin Tukamushaba, the St. Peter’s Catholic Parish Katojo high Priest encouraged Christians to abandon traditional gods and worship the Almighty God.
He emphasized that God’s mercy towards them is a compelling reason to remain steadfast in their daily worship.
The Rukungiri Woman Member of Parliament, Natukunda Medius Kaharata, along with other dignitaries, attended the event, where over 22 million shillings were collected.
