D/RDC Ongom Urges Victory International College Students to Uphold Discipline and Focus on Education
Rukungiri: The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (D/RDC) for Rukungiri, Wilberforce Ahimbisibwe Ongom, has urged students of Victory International College to uphold discipline, stay focused on their studies, and work hard to secure a successful future.
Ahimbisibwe made the remarks on November 6, during a farewell party for second-year candidates at Victory International College Institute, located in Rwakabengo Ward, Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
He advised students to prioritize education, avoid negative behaviors such as alcoholism and gambling, and build strong moral character. Ahimbisibwe emphasized that success comes through hard work and focus, urging students to maintain the good legacy of their school.
The RDC further encouraged the candidates to be patriotic, noting that patriotism begins with personal responsibility and good conduct, which later contributes to building a better nation. He reminded them that reaching the final stage of examinations is a privilege not everyone attains and cautioned them against early marriages, advising them to first work hard and prepare for a stable future.
The school director, Fabius Rwenyetsa, also emphasized the importance of vigilance and moral uprightness among students. He cautioned them to be wary of distractions and temptations that could derail their future and encouraged them to live godly lives.
Fabius particularly urged female students to guard against immorality, substance abuse, and peer pressure, assuring all students that God will guide them if they commit their lives to Christ. He reminded them that education is key to success.
Meanwhile, the Guild President, Shallon Kemigisha, thanked parents for supporting their children’s education, saying not everyone is privileged to have such support. She promised parents, teachers, and the school administration that candidates would work hard to produce excellent results in the upcoming final examinations.
