
Country Radio 87.6 Celebrates 2 Years of Excellence in Broadcasting
Rukungiri: Country Radio 87.6 FM joyfully celebrates its second anniversary, bringing excitement to both the staff and loyal listeners who have supported the station since its humble beginnings.
The radio station began its official broadcasts on June 25th, 2023, operating from Rwanyakashesha Hill in Kifunjo Cell, Kyatoko Ward, Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality. From that day, Country Radio has grown steadily into a respected media voice, proudly independent and community-focused.
Celebrations took place on June 25, at the radio premises, where staff reflected on two years of service to the public. Country Radio 87.6 FM remains committed to non-partisan broadcasting, with no political, religious, tribal, or racial affiliations. It is the only station in the region that delivers hourly news bulletins from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.

The station manager, Jackline Tumuheirwe, commonly known as Auntie Jackie, reaffirmed the station’s mission to serve all people equally and fairly. She expressed deep appreciation for everyone who has contributed to the station’s growth over the past two years, including loyal listeners, callers, and members of the business community who have trusted the station with advertisements and announcements.
As part of the celebration and in the spirit of giving back, the station has launched a promotional offer that runs until July 30th. All advertising and announcement services are now offered at half price, encouraging listeners and business partners to take part in the promotion.

Throughout the day, the mood at the station was filled with joy and gratitude. Department heads including the head of Production Cosbert Amanya, Head of Editorial Moses Mweeza, Head of Sports Chrispino Behimbisa well known as Peacemaker, Head of Social Media Chrispus Kamusiime and the Accountant Onesmus Nahabwe, also shared in the celebration, expressing their happiness and commitment to pushing Country Radio to even greater heights. They pledged to continue working diligently to ensure the station remains a beacon of truth, information, and entertainment in the region.
