Counsel Isaac Urges Students to Uphold Discipline and Focus on Education  

Rukungiri: Students have been advised to maintain maximum discipline and put extra effort into their studies if they want to secure a better future.

This call was made by the aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Counsel Isaac Atukunda, during his address to students of Makobore High School Kinyasano at the school grounds on April 14.

Counsel Isaac emphasized that education without discipline is a waste of time. He recalled that Makobore High School was previously known for strikes and other acts of indiscipline, both within and outside the school, which damaged its reputation and nearly led to its collapse.

He credited the revival of the school to the efforts of the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt Rev Onesmus Asiimwe, who prioritized restoring the church-founded schools, especially Makobore High School and Kinyasano Girls High School. Isaac noted that these efforts have helped restore the schools to their former glory.

He urged both the school administration and the students to work hard and produce excellent results so that the contributions of the foundation body, led by Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe, and the Old Students Association are not in vain.

The Head Teacher of Makobore High School Gad Arinaitwe appreciated the support received from the government, the foundation body, and the Old Students Association. He revealed that when he joined the school, it had only 136 students, but thanks to their combined efforts, the current enrollment has risen to 703 students and the number continues to grow.

Arinaitwe also thanked the Government of Uganda for funding the renovation of the school, noting that Makobore is now one of the model schools in western Uganda. With improved infrastructure and a conducive learning environment, he said the school is now focused on delivering quality education and producing excellent academic results, in line with the trust that parents have placed in the school.
