Clergy Transfers and Promotions Mark New Changes in North Kigezi Diocese

Rukungiri: The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, has announced a major reshuffle of clergy during a Diocesan Council meeting held on January 2 at Emmanuel Cathedral, Kinyasano in Rukungiri District.

According to sources, several key changes were made in diocesan leadership and parish postings.

Rev. Muntulive Nshabaruhanga, who has been serving as the Diocesan Education Coordinator, has been appointed the new Diocesan Secretary. He replaces Rev. Can. Erick Beigana Mugyezi, who officially retired last year after reaching the mandatory retirement age.

Ven. Benson Akankwatsa has been transferred from Buhunga Archdeaconry to All Saints Church in Rujumbura Archdeaconry, while Ven. Dickens Baguma moves from Nyakyisoroza Archdeaconry to Emmanuel Cathedral, Kinyasano, where he will serve as the Dean.

Very Rev. Amatsiko Niwegariho has been moved from Emmanuel Cathedral, Kinyasano to serve as Archdeacon of Bwanga Archdeaconry. Rev. Dickson Kakanyisa has been transferred from All Saints Church to Nanga Church of Uganda as Parish Priest.

Ven. George Bazahuza has been transferred from Bwambara Archdeaconry to Buhunga Archdeaconry, and Rev. Partson Amanya moves from Kibaale Parish to Nyarurambi Parish in Nyakyisoroza Archdeaconry.

In other changes, Rev. Medius Twinomugisha, formerly a vicar in Bugangari Archdeaconry, has been sent to Kisiizi Hospital as Assistant Chaplain. Rev. Moses Kabarebe joins North Kigezi Diocese from Kinkiizi Diocese as Coordinator for NKKD WATSAN and Assistant Household Transformation Officer in charge of Estates.

Rev. Evas Arinaitwe has been transferred from Kisiizi Hospital, where she served as Assistant Chaplain, to the Office of the Bishop as Diocesan Education Coordinator and Chaplain of North Kigezi Health Centre IV, Rugarama.

Rev. Elidard Twikyirize Rukuru of Karuhembe Parish has been promoted to Archdeacon of Bwambara Archdeaconry. Rev. Justus Otafiire, formerly of Nyarumbi Parish, has also been promoted to Archdeacon and assigned to Nyakyisoroza Archdeaconry.
