Cledonia Musiimenta Pledges to Champion Unity and Development for Rukungiri

Rukungiri: The aspiring Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri District Cledonia Musiimenta, has pledged to be a strong voice for the people and to address the pressing challenges affecting the district once elected.

Speaking to our news reporters on June 20, Musiimenta expressed her commitment shortly after her nomination on 17th June 2025 at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala. She was nominated by the Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, to contest in the upcoming National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries, scheduled for next month.

Musiimenta promised to serve the people of Rukungiri with dedication, transparency, and integrity. She emphasized that her leadership will focus on improving education, healthcare, roads, and empowering youth and women through skills training and income-generating programs.

“I want to be a true representative who listens to the concerns of our people and presents their ideas in Parliament. My goal is to work together with all stakeholders to bring tangible development to Rukungiri,” she said.

Musiimenta also urged the public to support leaders who promote peace and unity. She cautioned voters against politicians who use the campaign period to spread hatred, discrimination, and division among the people.

“Our district deserves leaders who unite and inspire, not those who divide and discourage. Let’s choose progress, not politics of hatred,” she added.

Musiimenta called on the people of Rukungiri to turn up in large numbers during the NRM primaries and give her the mandate to serve them in Parliament.
