Chairman Rwanyakibare decries water scarcity in Rugarama North

Ntungamo: The LCIII chairperson for Rugarama North sub-county in Rushenyi constituency, Ntungamo district Ivan Amanya Rwanyakibare has expressed concern over water scarcity in his area.

Rwanyakibare shared the concern during an interview with our reporter on September 1, 2024 in Kasaana, Ntungamo district.

He explained that residents are forced to trek in search of water for their daily needs.

Besides water scarcity, Rwanyakibare said the sub-county is still grappling with a no electricity as electric poles are rarely seen in the area.

He mentioned that, as a political leader, he has approached district representatives including the Ntungamo District Woman MP Joselyn Bata Kamateneti and Kajara County MP Micheal Tumuzigu for support in addressing these issues, but no progress has been made.

He called on the leaders to prioritize providing water and electricity to Rugarama North residents as part of their efforts to develop the area.
