Canon Yosia Twirire Celebrates 10 Years After Retirement

Rukungiri: The Diocesan Secretary of North Kigezi Diocese, Rev Munturive Nshaba Ruhanga, has called on Christians to embrace a culture of gratitude in their daily lives.

Rev Nshaba-Ruhanga made the remarks on April 4, while representing the Bishop at a thanksgiving function organized by Canon Yosia Twirire, the Head of Laity at St. John’s Nyakaina Church of Uganda, to mark ten years after his retirement and celebrate God’s faithfulness in his life.

During the service, Rev Nshaba-Ruhanga urged believers, especially children and business people, to appreciate those who support them. He encouraged children to thank their parents for investing in their education, and traders to remain grateful to their customers for their continued loyalty.

Canon Twirire, who also celebrated his 70th birthday, expressed deep gratitude to God for guiding him throughout his career and into retirement. He reflected on his upbringing, thanking his parents for laying a strong Christian foundation, and urged fellow parents to instill faith and values in their children.

A retired educationist, Canon Twirire served as a head teacher in several schools, including Kyamakanda Secondary School, Katurika Secondary School, and Muntuyera High School Kitunga.

The service also witnessed a family milestone, as Canon Twirire baptized his grandson, marking a significant spiritual moment during the celebration.
