Bwambara NRM Youth Committee Visits Inmates at Rukungiri Prison

Rukungiri: The NRM Youth Committee of Bwambara Sub-county has visited a group of youth prisoners from their area who are currently detained at Rukungiri Prison, located in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

The inmates include Clinton Kyarimpa, a resident of Nyabubare Parish and a murder suspect, along with Kwesiga Ronald Belega and Aloysius Niwabine, who are accused of theft.

The visit on October 6, was guided by the message encouraging youth to remember those in prison as if they were imprisoned with them, showing care and solidarity with their peers behind bars.

The delegation was led by Innocent Rutaraka Aijuka, the Youth Coordinator for Bwambara Sub-county, accompanied by Niwenyesiga Moses, the aspiring Male Youth Councillor, and Nsiga John, the Chairperson of the Youth League in Bwambara Sub-county. They urged the youth to remain productive, learn business and life skills, and avoid negative influences.

They further advised young people who are not in prison to engage in meaningful activities, support their parents with household chores, and stay away from harmful behaviors such as drug abuse, delinquency, gambling, adultery, and bad peer influence. Moses emphasized the importance of staying focused and taking deliberate steps toward building a bright future.

The Youth Secretary, Muhwezi Akampurira, encouraged young people to value and safeguard peace within their communities. The leaders also called upon parents to guide and protect their children’s rights and make decisions that promote their well-being and proper development.
