Bugyera-Kitojo P/S awards the best PLE perfomers.
Rukungiri: Students planning to enroll in secondary schools have been urged to be proud of their former schools because they gave them the best foundation.
The call was made on Friday 09th February 2024 by the Rukungiri District inspector of schools Solomon Arinaitwe at Bugyera-Kitojo primary school located in Kitojo cell, Bugyera parish, Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri District during the function of giving prizes to the best primary leaving examination (PLE) performers for the year 2023.
Arinaitwe asked the best performers not to lose the guard and pledged them the district support.
The school headteacher Justus Arinaitwe Kakungye attributed their success to the unity and hard work between the teachers, parents and the support staff.
He however highlighted some of the problems the school is currently facing which include insufficient furniture, small number of teachers, pupils absenteeism caused by parents among others.
Promise Amanya, a pupil who got six aggregates in a jolly mood, told our reporter that she passed the exams because of prayers, hardwork and respecting her parents.
Pupils who came in first grade received a mattress, two counter books and 2 pens each while those in second grade received two counter books and 2 pens each.
A total of 40 pupils sat PLE at Bugyera-kitojo primary school and of these, 21 came in first grade and the rest 19 came in division two.
Some of the scholastic materials including mathematical sets and counter books were donated by the Rukungiri woman member of Parliament hopeful Annah Nuwagaba.
