Bobi Wine praises Besigye, condemns poor services In Rukungiri.
Rukungiri: The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has condemned the poor road network and other shaky services in Rukungiri district.
He was on Wednesday July 17, 2024 addressing party members during his country wide mobilisation campaign at Omukagashe play ground in Kagashe ward, Eastern division, Rukungiri Municipality.
Bob Wine stated that police had stopped him and his entourage from using roads in the town centre and were forced to take the roads in the villages.
He however said this granted them the opportunity to witness the poor state of roads and residents who are stuck in absolute poverty as they were proceeding to the play ground.
Bobi Wine noted that the challenges faced in Rukungiri district are the same as those across the country, emphasizing that their visit to Rukungiri was to remind the masses about their struggles.
The NUP leader called upon the youths to combine efforts and fight for change since it’s their responsibility to defy poor leadership in Uganda.
Kyagulanyi at the same event commended Rtd Col Dr Kiiza Besigye, the former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president for mentoring him in politics and fostering unity within the opposition parties.
On his part, the leader of opposition in parliament and NUP party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi thanked Rukungiri people for standing on truth always and encouraged voters to support NUP in order to overcome poor leadership in Uganda.
Muwada Nkunyingi, MP for Kyadondo East, intimated that they were able to hold a peaceful rally, unlike in the previous years when security agencies would disrupt party activities.
Kyagulanyi was accompanied by the party Secretary General, Lewis Lubongoya, Mityana Municipality MP, Francis Zaake and other leaders in the party.
