Boaz Matiita Wins NRM Flag for Rukungiri Municipality Mayor with 82%

Rukungiri: The NRM Elections Officer for Rukungiri District, Elias Katureebe, has declared Boaz Kansiime Matiita as the elected NRM flag bearer for Rukungiri Municipality Mayor.

Matiita was announced the winner at 11:35 PM on July 24 during the ongoing vote tallying at the district tally center located in the Rukungiri District Council Hall.

He received 5,106 votes, representing 82.2%, defeating his rival Isaac Tumuhimbise, who got 1,105 votes (17.8%).

Speaking shortly after his victory, Matiita thanked his supporters for their tireless efforts during the campaign. He urged them not to relax but to continue mobilizing and working hard to secure victory in the general elections next year.
