Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe Urges Ugandans to Choose Leaders Wisely Ahead of 2026 Elections 

Rukungiri: As Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections, the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, has called on Ugandans to make informed decisions when electing their leaders. 

Speaking during the 11th Annual General Meeting of the North Kigezi Diocese SACCO on February 21, at All Saints Church in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, Bishop Asiimwe urged citizens to maintain unity and avoid divisions. 

He advised voters to critically assess aspiring leaders and their promises, emphasizing the importance of electing leaders who genuinely represent the people’s interests. The Bishop warned that poor leadership can have long-lasting negative effects on communities and the country at large.
