Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe Urges Students to Live God-Fearing and Disciplined Lives
Rikungiri: The Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, has urged students to open their hearts to Jesus Christ and live disciplined, God-fearing lives as future leaders of the nation.
Presiding over a Confirmation Service on November 9, at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in Rukungiri district, Bishop Asiimwe thanked school heads and parents for supporting the students who came to be confirmed in their faith. He reminded the congregation that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow but are already shaping the future today.
Bishop Asiimwe also encouraged students to honor God with their bodies, quoting 1 Corinthians 6:19, which says that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. He urged them to wait until marriage before engaging in sexual relationships and to resist peer pressure and immorality.

Addressing student leaders, Bishop Asiimwe reminded them of their vital role in promoting moral integrity in schools, emphasizing them to lead by example and inspire others to do what is right.
A total of 105 students from Makobore High School, Kinyasano Girls’ High School, and Tujja Memorial Nursery and Primary School were confirmed in the Christian faith. More than 30 others also gave their lives to Christ, accepting Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
