Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe Advises Holiday Students to Stay Vigilant and Engage in Positive Activities
Rukungiri: The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, has called on students, especially P7 and S4 candidates, to remain disciplined and careful during the holiday break.
Bishop Asiimwe shared this message on November 14 during an interview with our reporter at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, where he was attending a Bishop’s fellowship.
Bishop Asiimwe highlighted the challenges that students often face during holidays, particularly warning girls about the risks posed by boys who may try to take advantage of their free time. He urged girls to be vigilant and protect themselves from such dangers.
The Bishop advised all youth to stay occupied and avoid idleness, quoting the saying, “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop”. He encouraged young people to find productive activities, assist their parents with household chores, and distance themselves from negative peer influences.
Additionally, Bishop Asiimwe encouraged the youth to get involved in church programs, attend fellowships, read the Bible, and pray regularly.
