Bishop Callist Rubaramira Calls on Believers to Repent and Support Church Development
Rukungiri: The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Calist Rubaramira, has urged believers to turn back to God and repent of their sins to become true members of God’s family.
Bihop Rubaramira made this call on November 9 during a fundraising event at Nyakibale Cathoilic Parish in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality. The event was part of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) aimed at raising funds for the construction of a commercial building in Kabale town.
Bishop Rubaramira outlined the upcoming BAAF fundraising schedule, which includes Kabale on November 17th at Rushoroza grounds, Rubanda District on November 23rd, Kanungu District on December 1st, and Kampala on December 15th. He urged all believers to attend the final BAAF event on December 11th. The BAAF project aims to raise 1.5 billion UGX in this year to complete the construction of the commercial building, which will generate income to support various diocesan developments.
At the Nyakibale Parish event, a total of 293,823,400 UGX was raised. This contribution will help fund the construction of the commercial building along Kabale-Mbarara road, which is expected to generate income for the diocese’s other projects.
The aspiring Member of Parliament for Rubabo Constituency, Earnest Ngabirano Katara who was the guest of honor, contributed 25 million UGX to support the BAAF initiative. Katara emphasized that the foundation of true Christianity is kindness, unity, peace, and love.
