Bishop Asiimwe Urges Forgiveness and True Worship During Easter Season

Rukungiri: The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, has called on Christians to forgive and embrace one another during this Easter season as a way to allow Jesus to dwell in their hearts and transform their lives.

Bishop Asiimwe made the remarks during on April 16, in a press conference at the North Kigezi Diocesan Headquarters at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano. He emphasized that Easter is a holy season where Christians should offer their lives to God and become holy temples for Jesus to resurrect from.

He explained that Easter is a time for salvation, resurrection, and redemption, reminding Christians to repent and surrender their lives to God.

The Bishop also warned against individuals who claim or pretend to be God in order to mislead others. He urged Christians not to be deceived by false leaders who start churches for selfish purposes.

Bishop Asiimwe went on to commend the Christians of North Kigezi Diocese for embracing spiritual revival and the gospel of God. He revealed that he has now completed two years of serving God’s people in the Diocese.

He encouraged all Christians to actively support the preaching and interpretation of the gospel, noting that spreading the message of faith and transformation should not be left to clergy alone.

He further revealed that by God’s grace, over 20,000 people in the Diocese have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and more than 9,000 have been confirmed into the Anglican faith. He also acknowledged the growing spiritual revival throughout the Diocese.
