Bishop Asiimwe Ordains 7 Clergy at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano
Rukungiri: The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, has ordained seven clergy members during a colourful service held at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano grounds. The ceremony attracted a large congregation and several dignitaries.
Six ordinands were on December 7, admitted to the diaconate, including Ord. Joshua Asiimwe, Ord. Nicholas Turyahabwe, Ord. William Birungi, Ord. Lewin Nimusiima, Ord. Ronah Akatukunda, and Ord. Moses Naturinda. Rev. Moses Tugume was ordained into the priesthood.
While preaching, Rev. Dr. Jasper Tumuhimbise, the CEO of Church Commissioners Holding Company Limited, urged the newly ordained deacons to live exemplary lives rooted in righteousness.
He stressed that those who cannot uphold the values of ministry should step aside, saying leaders cannot preach what they themselves do not practice. He reminded them that service is honourable and encouraged them to shepherd God’s people with love, humility, integrity, and vigilance against “wolves.”

In his remarks, Bishop Asiimwe emphasized that the Church stands firmly on the foundation of the Word of God. He urged the newly ordained to focus on preaching the true gospel and avoid being swayed by worldly influences. He added that as new clergy, they will be observed and criticised by many, and therefore must always conduct themselves in a manner befitting their calling.
