Bishop Ahimbisibwe Urges Students to Set Goals, Stay Disciplined for Academic Success.

Ntungamo: The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese in Ntungamo district, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, has called on students to set achievable academic goals, observe discipline, and remain focused on their studies as the only way to attain academic excellence.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe made the remarks on September 30, during the dedication service of 119 Senior Four and 43 Senior Six candidates at Ihunga Mugyera Basian Secondary School (IMBASS), located in Rwamutunga cell, Ngomba parish, Rugarama sub-county, Ntungamo District.

He emphasized the importance of setting realistic academic targets and creating a clear plan to achieve them. The Bishop further urged students to practice discipline, build self-esteem, and prepare diligently for their upcoming examinations, reminding them that the same God who protected them from dropping out of school is also the source of their success.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe also stressed that both formal and informal education are crucial for a brighter future, urging learners to study hard not only for their personal benefit but also to uplift their families and communities.

The Director of IMBASS Secondary School, Ivan Karabayi, praised Bishop Ahimbisibwe for his consistent dedication to guiding students toward success.

He encouraged learners to remain focused and hardworking, while also calling on parents to provide basic needs and ensure timely payment of school fees to avoid interruptions in their children’s education. Karabayi noted that education is key to unlocking and improving the socio-economic wellbeing of families.

The school principal, Dan Muhwezi, revealed that the school has adequately prepared students for the new curriculum by engaging internal examiners to boost their confidence.

He expressed faith in the readiness of both S4 (UCE) and S6 (UACE) candidates, stressing that discipline and trust in God will help them excel. Muhwezi reminded the candidates to remain committed to their education, saying they are the future saviors of Uganda.
