Believers from North Kigezi Diocese Urged to Strengthen Cooperation

Rukungiri: Believers from outside Rukungiri District under North Kigezi Diocese have been urged to foster cooperation and unity among themselves.

This call was made on December 26, by Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, during a reunion held at the Bishop’s residence in Kinyasano Ward, Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality. The event brought together believers from Kampala, South Africa, South Sudan, and other places.

Bishop Asiimwe emphasized that the primary purpose of the reunion was to strengthen relationships, appreciate mutual support, and celebrate together. He also reminded Christians that Christmas is not merely about eating and drinking but about celebrating the coming of Jesus Christ.

Bishop Asiimwe announced that this reunion will now be an annual event, held every December 26th.

The Minister of Security, Gen. Jim Muhwezi, who was the guest of honor, encouraged believers to value and protect peace, stressing that it takes time and effort to build and should not be taken for granted. He also urged believers to fight poverty in their churches and homes by promoting development initiatives within their families and congregations.
