
Aspiring MP Andrew Kiikira Donates Cement and Bricks for Expansion of Ruruku Mosque
Rukungiri: The aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Andrew Kiikira, has donated 100 bags of cement and two truckloads of bricks towards the construction and expansion of Ruruku Mosque in Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
The donation was made on April 11, during a fundraising ceremony held at the mosque premises, aimed at expanding and improving the mosque’s facilities.
While speaking as the guest of honor, Kiikira emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among people of different faiths. He highlighted his vision for Rukungiri Municipality, which includes improved infrastructure, better roads, increased access to electricity and clean water, economic development, healthcare, and quality education.
Kiikira also encouraged residents to elect leaders who were born and raised in the municipality, stressing that such leaders are more likely to understand and effectively address local needs.

Rukungiri District Khadhi, Sheikh Abdul Malik Byaruhanga, urged Muslims to actively engage in politics to ensure their voices are heard and their rights protected in the wider community.

The aspiring Mayor for Rukungiri Municipality Boaz Kasiime Matita, urged Muslims to continue developing their places of worship as a way to promote unity, love, and cooperation among communities. He contributed UGX 500,000 towards the project.

The Imam of Ruruku Mosque Sheikh Muzamira Musinguzi, expressed his gratitude to all political leaders who supported the initiative, especially Andrew Kiikira, Boaz Matita, and others.
In total, UGX 4,709,000 was raised during the event to support the expansion of the mosque.
