Annah Nuwagaba Encourages Nyakishenyi Residents to Embrace Handcrafts for Income
Rukungiri: The aspiring Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri District Annah Nuwagaba Tumuramye, has urged residents of Katonya Parish in Nyakishenyi Sub-county to engage in handcraft-making as a way to improve household incomes.
Nuwagaba made the remarks during a campaign rally held on July 10 at Kirimbe Trading Centre in Nyakishenyi. Nuwagaba highlighted that handcrafts can play a significant role in supplementing other income sources, especially for families in rural areas.
During the rally, residents voiced their frustrations over broken service delivery, citing poor road conditions, water scarcity, and challenges in the health and education sectors.
In response, Nuwagaba promised to be a representative who will prioritize people’s needs once elected to Parliament. She attributed the stagnation in critical sectors to poor representation at the national level and pledged to advocate for better services.
She also called on local leaders to focus on serving the people rather than their own interests.
Many residents pledged their support to Nuwagaba ahead of the elections scheduled for July 17.
