Andrew Kikira Urges LC1 Chairpersons to Guide Voters, Warns Against Election Violence
Rukungiri: With only three days left to the NRM primary elections, aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality, Andrew Ankunda Kikira, has called on LC1 chairpersons to guide voters on the correct polling stations to avoid missing out on electing their preferred candidates.
Ankunda Kikira made the remarks during a radio talk show on July 14, on Country Radio, where he also urged the public to vote for him on July 17 so he can represent them in the Parliament of Uganda, saying he understands the challenges faced by the people of Rukungiri Municipality.
He asked voters to differentiate between leaders and rulers, warning that some politicians are seeking office not to serve the people, but to rule over them.
Ankunda Kikira also issued a strong warning to individuals planning to cause violence or chaos on election day, saying that some candidates are allegedly planning to use overwhelming force to intimidate voters. However, he assured the public that security forces are prepared and anyone found causing trouble will be arrested.
He concluded by urging the public to remain vigilant on election day to ensure a peaceful and successful voting process.
