
Allan Nabaasa Tiberondwa Nominated to Contest for Rubabo County on FDC Ticket
Rukungiri: Allan Nabaasa Tiberondwa, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer for Rubabo County, has been duly nominated by the Electoral Commission to contest in the upcoming general elections.
Tiberondwa, who was nominated on October 22, at exactly 10:49 a.m., spoke shortly after the exercise and urged the people of Rubabo to trust him with their votes. He promised to be a stronger voice for the constituency in Parliament and to effectively lobby for improved service delivery.
“The area needs a stronger voice in Parliament to advocate for better services,” Tiberondwa said during an interview with our reporter.
The nomination exercise, which started at 9:00 a.m., was presided over by the Rukungiri District Returning Officer, Abas K. Namara, at the district tally center in Rukungiri Town.

According to Namara, a total of 16 candidates were successfully nominated to contest for various positions in the district. These include one candidate on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, two on the FDC ticket, two on the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), one on the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket, while the rest are independents.
Namara also revealed that campaigns for all nominated candidates will officially commence on November 10, 2025.
