5 FDC Members Cross to NRM in Nyibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub-County

Rukungiri: Five members of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party have officially joined the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Nyibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District.

The defectors include Hope Kyarimpa, Medius Turyasingura, Elias Gumoshabe, and Nelson Nshekampora. They announced their decision during a meeting of NRM parish structures held at Mutaturwa Church of Uganda in Nyibingo Parish on November 21.

Explaining their move, the new members said they wanted to reunite with friends in the NRM and expressed concerns about what they described as a lack of fairness and accountability within the FDC. They added that such political shifts are often driven by changing ideologies, personal interests, or strategic alliances.

Speaking at the same event, the District Councilor for Kebisoni Sub County, James Turyamubona, welcomed the new members, saying their decision is a moral boost for the party and a sign of growing unity.

Turyamubona, who also serves as Speaker of Kebisoni Sub county, said the NRM is open to all who are willing to work together for development. He urged FDC members who have joined the party to support NRM flag bearers from LC1 level, area MPs, up to President Museveni for meaningful progress in the sub county.

The Vice LC3 Chairperson of Kebisoni Sub county, Frank Mabwa, also encouraged the new members to fully support NRM candidates, noting that this is the only way to improve household livelihoods in the area. He stressed that electing opposition leaders often undermines service delivery and slows down development.
