3 Arrested Over Stolen Motorcycle in Rukungiri District
Rukungiri: Three people have been arrested in Rubare Town Council, Ntungamo District, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District.
The suspects are Darius Turyamubona and Darius Niwamanya, both residents of Ruyonza Parish, and Alex Ariho from Kyanika Cell, Ndago Parish. All are from Nyarushanje Sub-County in Rukungiri District.
The stolen motorcycle is a Bajaj Boxer, registration number UFC 920Z, red in color.
Speaking to our reporter at Rukungiri Central Police Station on February 13, the owner of the motorcycle, Onesmus Karuma, a resident of Kiborogota in Kebisoni Town Council, said the motorcycle was stolen at around 5:00 a.m. on Friday, 13th February 2026. It was taken from a petrol station in Kebisoni Town Council where it had been parked.
Karuma said he discovered the theft at 8:00 a.m., The tracking device showed that the motorcycle was already in Rubare Town Council, where the suspects were reportedly looking for buyers. They were arrested later that evening.
Karuma appealed to other people who have lost motorcycles to follow up with the police, noting that the suspects were found with three other stolen motorcycles.

Meanwhile, George Turyatunga, a resident of Nyibingo in Kebisoni Sub-County, who helped in the recovery of the motorcycle, said they were shocked by the incident but grateful to everyone who supported the tracking and recovery process.

The suspects are currently detained at Rukungiri Central Police Station, and by press time, police had not yet released an official statement.
