17-Year-Old Housemaid Found Hanging in Mango Tree in Rukungiri District

Rukungiri: A 17-year-old housemaid has been found dead, hanging from a mango tree in Nyamitooma 1 Cell, Nyamitooma Ward, Bikurungu Town Council, Rukungiri District.

The incident occurred on Sunday August 10, 2025.

According to Bikurungu Town Council Mayor, Warren Kajuna, the deceased whose name were not identified, had been working in the family of Sad Sanyu.

Its alleged that the girl had disappeared on last Thursday, 7th August 2025. Just three days later, she was discovered hanging in the mango tree.

Kajuna noted that the girl was not a resident of the area but came from Karuga-Kayonzya in Kanungu District. He added that she had worked in the household for about half a month.
