
Rukungiri Municipality MP Hopeful Ankunda asks couples to stay away from domestic violence.
Rukungiri: The aspiring Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Andrew Ankunda Kikira has urged couples to stay away from domestic violence if their families are to develop.
Ankunda made the call on Sunday, March 23, 2025 while speaking as the chief guest at All Saints Church in Rukungiri town during the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God service.
He advised couples to seek peaceful means of dissolving disagreements incase they arise, further asserting that unresolved issues breeds family stagnation.
Ankunda mentioned peaceful dispute resolution means as prayers, seeking guidance from church leaders and family counselors among others.
He said every family faces challenges but they are solved through rightful channels.

Ankunda also called for respecting of all mothers just as Christians reverence Mother Mary.
He said mothers should not only be respected in church but in all other places.

Speaking at the same event, the headteacher for Kinyansano Girls High School Allen Kiyasiimire asked Christians to always be hopeful and stay committed to their families despite tough times that may arise.
She informed Christians that they can overcome every problem as long as they have faith in God and remain in Church.
